JEFFREY PERRY

Jeffrey Perry started his career selling vintage furniture out of his parents' garage. He quickly progressed to opening Futurama in 1988, one of the first L.A. stores to focus on mid-twentieth century design. Inspired by his love of the period, Perry scoured flea markets and thrift shops, finding items to restore and sell in Hollywood. His store evolved when he began supplementing his finds with replicas of classic mid-century furniture commissioned from local fabricators in customers' choice of fabrics. Perry's unique approach combines high style, quality construction and an affordable price. The blue kidney-shaped sofa shown in the Desert Isle living room photo is from Futurama's reproduction line.

Having spent part of his youth in the Yucca Valley, Perry began exploring the area at the turn of the century. The vast number of forlorn-looking abandoned homestead cabins inspired him to restore and update these properties for contemporary lifestyles.

Jeffrey Perry bought his first cabin in 2001 and quickly restored it to better than new. With his early 2008 restoration of twin cabins in Wonder Valley's Sapphire Ranch, Perry is renting out properties for weekend get-aways or month-long stays. Want to learn more?
